#1 Tales …

This is Opa’s territory — the stories, the caricatures, the humor, the almost-true tales brought to life through caricatures, cartoon art, and everyday, “country style”storytelling. Opa draws people the way he sees them—and that’s not always the way a camera sees them.

To Opa, the purpose of caricature is a lot like the same, deep question Jesus once asked His disciples:

“Who do you say I am?” (Mark 8:27–29)

Caricature art asks: “How do others see you? How do you see yourself? And how does God see you?”

Some people say, “Wow! That looks exactly like her!” Others say,“I don’t see it—it doesn’t look like him.” Either way, that opens the door to a conversation about what God is seeing.

#2 Trails …

In E.B and Opa’s world, trails can be found anywhere one of their day trips go—trails are everywhere. Sure, these little excursions make great memories, but that’s not the whole story. When you’re on the go, if your heart is in the right place, they can also be invitations to step out of the routine and “pray as you go.”

When you slow down, your eyes really begin to see. A ramp added to a front porch… an empty car left on the shoulder of a highway… a house that is run down…they’re all clues to inform you that someone needs a prayer—your prayer!

“Rolling Prayer” or “Prayer-To-Go” is a big part of why E.B and Opa roam the Palmetto State. While searching the small towns and traveling those old highways, E.B and Opa are also searching for souls in need of God’s mercy and grace.

Yes, we follow the BarBQ Trails and the Antique Trails. But we also follow thoe Prayer Trails. And any one of can take you to some amazing, common place if you keep your spiritual eyes open.

#3 Treasures …

This is E.B’s world. She has a gift for finding pieces of history hiding in plain sight — small-town treasures, vintage finds, and items that still deserve a home.

Most of her “finds” are just one step away from being forever discarded… until E.B shows up and rescues them.

She brings these old treasures back to life and connects them with someone who will appreciate their worth.

That’s why she loves eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and a few other online shopping places— they’re like a ministry disguised as online commerce.

Why We Do This

The reason is simple:
Jesus loves you.
And He wants all of us to love Him and to love each other. Everything else is just commentary.

Our work — the art, the writing, the traveling, the praying, the rescuing of generational treasures — is just our way of answering God’s call in our lives. Opa is fond of saying, “We want to help people see what God sees around us”:
• dignity
• purpose
• value
• stories worth telling

Besides, Opa has never been able to not draw. And E.B has never been able to not care about the generations that came before her and the generations coming after her now. That’s who we are as people.
And neither E.B nor Opa has ever been able to stop loving Jesus either—and who would want to stop that!

So Reach One Media is our small way of living love out loud. Let’s make some noise together!
