WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF E.B. & OPA
Out here in the deep country, titles don’t matter much. We’re Beth and Frank by birth, but almost nobody calls us that these days. We’re grandparents and great-grandparents first, country folks by choice, and E.B and Opa by the grace of God, time, and a lot of love. And honestly, that’s just the way we like it!
E.B & OPA ARE …
Opa spent his life serving in the military, always carrying a pencil in one pocket and a story in another — writing, drawing, and sketching caricatures wherever life took him. E.B spent her years helping people find work, purpose, and direction, listening closely and caring deeply. These days, instead of rushing through schedules, we wander — mostly across South Carolina, but occasionally dipping our toes into North Carolina or southwest Virginia — chasing stories, people, and places worth noticing.
COUNTRY LIVING …
Yes, we really do have a barn!
It’s not fancy, but it feels a lot like home. The Palmetto Barn is our studio, our workshop, and our thinking place — wired for the modern world by day and perfectly suited for star-watching and soul-pondering by night. It sits out in a pasture near the Bull Swamp, somewhere between Orangeburg and Soda City (Columbia), just down the road from Four Hole Swamp. Around here, that puts us within easy reach of lake country (take your pick—Marion, Murray, or Wateree), small towns, back roads, and places most folks just zip by without ever slowing down.
We don’t live in any of those towns or places—but they surely live in us.
Truth be told, we’ve become swamp folks. And we love the Palmetto State — a place with lots of swamps and rich with tales, trails, and treasures if you’re willing to look close enough.
THE BUSINESS! THE MINISTRY …
That’s what Reach One Media is all about.
We tell stories.
We draw pictures.
We rescue treasures.
Sometimes those treasures are old collectibles rescued from the fog of being forgotten. Sometimes they’re stories pulled from a front porch chat. Sometimes they’re people who remind us that every life has value. We share them through words, art, digital media, and the occasional “almost-true” tale discovered out there on a back road.
And yes — we pray along the way. A lot. Because wherever you travel, there is need and the clues are there if your eyes are open.
OUR INVITATION …
So come ride along with us. Visit the small towns and communities of the Palmetto State. Meet the characters. Hear the stories — but fair warning: some are unabashedly stretched just enough to make them better. Country folks aren’t always worried about the details. Sometimes living the story is better than writing the footnotes.
If you enjoy that kind of life — the kind that slows down, looks around, laughs easily, and listens closely — you’re going to feel right at home here.
OUR STORY …
So for now, as E.B and Opa are fond of saying:
“That’s our story, and we’re sticking to it.”

There’s always room for one more friend on the Palmetto Roads and Holy Highway.
